Sales of cars in Russia decreased by 10% in March 2016

According to the Association of European businesses (AEB), in March 125 917 cars and light commercial vehicles were sold in Russia, which is a 10% decrease on the similar period of the last year. Thus, in comparison with February 2016 the market grew by 11% and showed the best result since the beginning of 2016.

The leading three in the market remained unchanged. The leadership was kept by the brand Lada, which sold 22 276 cars that is by 19% less than a figure of year prescription. Kia with a result of 12 334 sold cars took the second place (+7%). Hyundai, which sold 11 009 cars (-21%) rounds out the top three.

The sharpest decline in sales in March was shown by Jeep (-61.6%), SsangYong (-61.2%), Datsun (-51%), Honda (-50.5%), Smart (-58.1%), Volvo (-45.1%) and Mitsubishi            (-45.1%).
