Unmanned «KAMAZ» will receive «virtual polygon»

Russian Automotive Market Research

The Russian company Cognitive Technologies, which creates software for unmanned KAMAZ, will test this vehicle on a special «virtual polygon». The project is a set of programs, which enable developers to simulate different traffic situations.

Using «virtual polygon», authors of the project will be able to analyze videos captured by cameras during road tests, and based on the received information to configure control of the unmanned vehicle. The polygon will allow modeling not only simple traffic situations, for example, changing lanes, but difficult ones – from moving in bad weather conditions to the road accident.

The amount of investment into the project – budgetary funds and funds of private companies – will be about 150 million rubles for two years. Now investment reached 30 million rubles.
